Ingredients:
  • 1 sliced loaf of bread (preferably 2 days old)
  • 1 liter milk or your choice of non-dairy milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Honey (or agave syrup)
  • 2 lemon peels
  • powder cinnamon to your liking

Steps:
  1. In a bowl, place the milk, cinnamon sticks and lemon peel. Add the sliced bread, so that it is covered for at least 6h to get a better consistency.
Tip: The longer you soak it, the better the consistency will be. (in the photo soaked "rabanadas" up to 12h)
  1. You can soak in warm milk, pan and immediately bake.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200º C.
  3. Beat the eggs, add some agave and cinnamon powder (to taste).
  4. Put baking paper on a baking tray.
  5. Dip the bread in the beaten egg and place on the baking tray. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle with cinnamon and agave (to taste).

Suggestion:
To get the best consistency for the bread, soak the slices for 10/15 minutes, the longer you do it the better consistency they have!

Tip:
Try not to eat them all at once! Merry Christmas!
