Thyristor power switch - TYA 432 - Jumo

Thyristor power switches are required for contactless switching of alternating current consumers.
A typical application is the switching of ohmic-inductive loads at a high switching frequency.
Jumo presents an improved series of semiconductor contactors with a new look and compact design type, it is specially designed for use in smaller control cabinets.

This product applies especially to the industrial sector in areas such as the plastic packaging industry, air conditioning and heat technology and industrial furnace construction.
The control and power sections are galvanically isolated by optocouplers. The control signal area is compatible with the logic outputs of the JUMO controllers.
The input status is indicated by a green LED.

Advantages

The power section operates as a zero voltage switch. As a result, switching always takes place at zero voltage, irrespective of the time when the control signal changes. This reduces grid disturbances;
The thyristor is protected in many different ways against temperature, it has an integrated sink with galvanic isolation from the output power circuit to dissipate the heat, protecting it against any problem in the input control circuit, and it also has a varistor to protect against voltage peaks;
Wear free switches increase machine reliability as well as reduce maintenance and downtime costs. Their imperviousness to grease and moisture, even under extreme conditions, makes them ideal for use in the food industry;
This type of relays or contactors with semiconductor are noiseless because they don’t have moving parts or contacts, avoiding the stress factor to the workers.
