Temperature Sensors

Cabos compensados – F.Fonseca

The compensated cables allow the correct connection of thermocouples and thermoresistences to the reading and control equipment.
The compensated cables are identified by the composition of the materials that constitute them. The most commonly used are type K, J, S, R, B, T and N. They can be distinguished by the color of the outer coating and F.Fonseca uses the IEC standard in the color coding of the cables that it sells. The compensated cables can be extension or compensation, according to the specific need. The outer coating may vary between the metallic braid, the PVC, the silicone, or the teflon.
F.Fonseca also provides cables for RTD's, which can be 2, 3, 4 or 6 wires. With the coating option vary between metal braid, silicone or Teflon.

Ceramic tubes and insulators - Sensor components – F.Fonseca

The ceramic tubes and insulators allow the protection and isolate the thermocouples and wires from the temperature sensors.
Ceramic tubes, from F.Fonseca, exhibit greater or lesser dynamic resistance depending on the amount of alumina used in their composition. The DIN 610 ceramic tubes contain 60% alumina in their composition and can be used at temperatures up to 1500°C. The DIN 799 ceramic tubes contain 99.7% alumina and can be used at temperatures up to 1800°C.
The DIN 799 tubes offer better shock resistance when compared to DIN 610.
In the insulators we have the same distinction of typology according to its composition. Insulators can have 1, 2 or 4 holes and their internal and external diameters are several depending on the thermocouples / wires to be used.

Digitemp-E Wireless – Heraeus Electro-Nite

DigiTemp-E responds to the growing need for integration of new electronic technologies in terms of both hardware and interfaces. DigiTemp-E Wireless measures and analyzes the temperature in steel, iron and molten non-ferrous metals. The sensors are connected to the equipment via the manually operated QUBE Wireless lances or with conventional wired lances.

The DigiTemp-E Wireless from Heraeus Electro-Nite receives signal from the QUBE T wireless lance. It has an analog input for conventional wired lances. The non-reflective 45mm display, with wireless connection and indication of signal strength, has a LED indication of the measuring sequence. It also has high measurement accuracy through a high-resolution A/D converter, curves for S, R, B, K and D thermocouple types, detection and interpretation of measurement errors and automatic measurement recognition test.

RTD – F.Fonseca Temperature Sensors

Thermoresistances, also known as RTD (Resistance Temperature Detectors), are temperature sensors made of high temperature coefficient electrical resistance metals.
RTD temperature sensors are typically identified by the material of which they are constituted and by the resistance they present at 0°C. The most commonly used nominal values are Pt100, Pt500 and Pt1000. The various rated values, output characteristic dependent on temperature and tolerances are specified in DIN EN 60751.

Temperature sensors type K - Marshall

Marshall thermocouple sensors are suitable for temperature measurement in liquid metals up to a maximum of 1350 ° C.

K Marshall thermocouples are robust and reliable sensors for measurement in aluminum, bronze, brass and copper (alloy) castings. Constructed in steel coated with a thin layer of graphite, they can be used directly in the liquid metal without preheating.

Temperature sensors with wireless technology – F.Fonseca

The need to measure temperature in remote or hard-to-reach places created the need to use wireless technology to overcome physical obstacles. By incorporating the Jumo Wtrans B transmitter into F.Fonseca sensors, we have brought down the physical barriers that have hitherto prevented the measurement of temperature in remote, moving or hard-to-reach places.

Using the 868.4 MHz transmission frequency the Jumo Wtrans B transmitter allows F.Fonseca  temperature sensors to integrate the transmitter and the antenna into the sensor itself. The programmable transmitter is universal and applicable in type B heads, having operating temperature between -30 ° to 85 ° C. The antenna with M20x1.5 connection will includes a 3.6V 2.2Ah lithium AA battery and has a maximum range of 300m in the open field.

Terminal heads and ceramic plates - Sensor Components – F.Fonseca

The terminal heads and ceramic plates for temperature sensors allow the connections between the sensors and the process connection wiring to be made safely.

F.Fonseca has aluminum, PVC and stainless steel terminal heads in a wide variety of formats to meet the needs of the market. From type B, A, KNE, KNN and Mignon. With IP67 and IP68, the temperature range can go up to maximum 180º, 480º or 1000ºC depending on the composition. Also available, certified terminal heads for applications in explosive environments.
The offer of ceramic plates is suitable for the variety of terminal heads that F.Fonseca sells. From simple and dual thermocouple boards to simple 2-wire and 3-wire or 4-wire and 6-wire RTDs.

Thermocouple sensors – F.Fonseca

The thermocouples are thermoelectric sensors, formed by the joining of two different metallic materials, whose principle of operation is based on the effect of Seebeck. The junction of the two materials creates a voltage proportional to the temperature difference between the terminals and the junction. The most frequent types of thermocouples are K, S, R, B, J, T and N.
