Cable protection and routing systems for industrial robots – Murrplastik

The rapid, multidirectional movements of industrial robots subject cables and hoses to repeated bending, torsion, tensile loads and contact with the robot structure. Inadequate routing can result in premature wear, restricted movement and unplanned maintenance.

Murrplastik provides cable and hose protection systems designed to follow the dynamic movements of industrial robots. Depending on the application, the solutions combine corrugated conduits, mounting brackets, end fittings, strain-relief components and retraction systems for continuous length compensation.

The assemblies can be adapted to the robot model, motion profile and application requirements, ensuring controlled routing between the individual robot axes.

Features
  • Robot-specific conduit packages: assemblies comprising corrugated conduits, mounting brackets, end fittings and strain-relief components, designed for specific industrial robot models;
  • Protection of cables and hoses: corrugated conduits protect the installed cables and hoses against abrasion, mechanical stress and external influences;
  • Adjustable strain relief: configurable end fittings provide controlled fixation and organisation of cables and hoses at the entry and exit points of the conduit package;
  • Retraction systems: solutions such as the R-Tec Liner, R-Tec Liner 2.0 and R-Tec Box compensate for changes in length during robot movement and keep the conduit package under controlled guidance;
  • Routing between robot axes: depending on the selected configuration, the retraction systems support cable and hose routing between axes 3 and 6;
  • Different mechanical configurations: open, enclosed, linear or deflected routing solutions are available according to the installation space, robot geometry and motion profile.

Advantages
  • Controlled routing of cables and hoses throughout the robot movement;
  • Reduced bending, tensile and impact loads on the installed media;
  • Protection against abrasion and external influences;
  • Reduced risk of uncontrolled contact with the robot structure;
  • Simplified installation and replacement of the conduit package;
  • Adaptation to different robot models, motion profiles and application requirements;
  • Improved accessibility during inspection and maintenance operations.
