1001 trees planted in Australia! Thank you!

With the support of all, F.Fonseca managed to plant 1001 trees in Australia!   Since January 9, 2020, F.Fonseca has dedicated itself to bringing together its customers, employees, suppliers and the general population, around the solidarity cause Let’s help Australia? With the objective of raising funds for the planting of trees in that country which, unfortunately, suffered a heartbreaking tragedy.   The campaign was developed through PPL, a crowdfunding platform, dedicated to supporting fundraising. This initiative, which was published in the Diário de Aveiro newspaper, on the various social networks and on the company's website, appealed to everyone to join and had an incentive of € 1 = 1 tree, highlighting the fact that “together we are stronger” and that each € makes a difference!   The organization chosen for the execution of this action was OneTreePlanted, focused on global reforestation, non-profit. With the support of everyone who believed in this cause, it will be possible to donate the amount raised until the end of the campaign that ended, on February 17th, with a total of 1001€. This means that F.Fonseca was able to raise enough funds to plant 1001 trees, help with reforestation, habitat restructuring and increased food available for animals in Australia!   It was not an easy task. The start of the campaign was shaky and uncertain, due to the slowness with which the contributions were arriving. However, there was great support, a great lesson in team spirit, citizenship and solidarity, which filled the hearts of all those involved! “There are gestures that make us believe that we are contributing to a better world and, above all, cultivating citizenship, whether here or thousands of kilometers away.” This initiative joins so many others already organized by this company, with great social and environmental awareness, always with a view to a better world!   F.Fonseca was only the vehicle that brought this campaign to a successful conclusion, but the real merit is of those who gave their contribution and committed themselves to helping to give hope back to Australia.   When we believe in a cause and give everything for it, success is guaranteed! Our special thanks to Diário de Aveiro, Publindústria, the Tensai Indústria team, Associação de Assistência de Eixo and Patronato Nossa Senhora das Dores.

Let’s help Australia?

F.Fonseca wants to help and needs your contribution! It’s not news anymore: flames up to 60 meters high are devastating Australia. More than 10 million acres have burned. Around 1000 million animals were killed and those who survived are still in danger because of dehydration, hunger and disease.   New South Wales is one of the biggest states in the country. There is the Koala Hospital’s headquarters, from where we recently adopted 2 young koalas, victims of the wild fires: Paul and Anwen.   Now, it’s time to recover their habitats and guarantee that they, and all the rest of the Australian animals, have homes and food again. We need your help to gather money to plant as many trees as possible!   1 euro = 1 tree.   We know how it feels, to watch your country burn. Years of effort and natural growth vanish in minutes. We feel it under our skin. And here, in Portugal, it didn’t happen with this magnitude.   Let’s help? We are counting on you! And so is Australia.   How can you make your donation? Through the crowdfunding campaign www.ppl.pt/causas/ffonseca you can donate the desired amount by the usual means of payment (ATM, bank transfer, credit card, PayPal or MB WAY).   All collected funds will be delivered to OneTreePlanted   Solidarity campaign valid from January 8 to February 8, 2020.

Another F.Fonseca solidarity campaign has ended successfully!

For a merrier Christmas to everyone!   One again, F.Fonseca launched a solidarity campaign, from the 3rd until the 20th of December. Its goal was the collection of food and hygiene products to those in need. The names of the associations we chose to help are “Obra da Criança” and “Associação Humanitária Mão Amiga”, both settled in our district. These associations shelter kids and young adults living in risk: orphans, targets of physical / psychological abuse and who were neglected. They also support families in a very precarious socioeconomics’ situation. Besides that, we were shocked by how difficult it is to match the basic needs of these children. It’s hard to imagine that they take baths without shampoo nor shower gel and that there’s no toothpaste or toilet paper enough for all. Also, it is important to mention how hard it is to feed all those kids, from 2 to 18 years old. Therefore, we felt the necessity to make this Christmas season a happier and cosier one to the children in these institutions. We opened our doors to all people who wanted to join our humanitarian and caring spirit. With the help of our employees, suppliers, partners and all the community around, we gathered more than 370 kilos of food and hygiene products, surpassing the number of packages collected last year.  Christmas is a synonym of solidarity, but these necessities exist all year long. We would like to thank all those who participated in this campaign, specially Rittal, who donated a big box full of hygiene products. This year, the administration of F.Fonseca doubled its donation, totalizing almost 83 kilos of products. We hope that this example mobilizes others to do the same in the future! In the end, our memory is carved with smiles and happiness, given to us by those who needed us most. And that’s all that matters. We are F.Fonseca!

Basic goods collecting charity campaign. Know how to help!

It’s official! Another F.Fonseca’s charity campaign has started!   We are collecting food and hygiene products. Our main goal is to give more comfort and happiness to children of two different institutions: “Obra da Criança” and “Associação Mão Amiga” (AHMA).   “Obra da Criança” gives shelter and helps children between 2 and 18 years old, who are in a social risk situation. Some of them are orphans, others were abandoned and some belong to very poor families. This institution guarantees that its youth fulfil all their basic needs and get access to a good education, helping them get a better future.   The main purpose of “AHMA” is to promote and defend the best interest of its children. It has a kindergarten, a Parental Counseling and Family Support Centre and a foster home. The foster home, “O Aconchego”, shelters 19 children with different levels of dependence, both physical and cognitive.   Until December 18th, our arms are wide open for anyone who wants to help us help! We count on suppliers, clients, partners, employees, family and friends!   It’s super easy to participate: select the products you want to donate and deliver/send them to our address in Aveiro.   We’re counting on you! 5 points where industries will evolve in the future!

Smart Industries at F.Fonseca Day second edition   Helder Lemos from F.Fonseca and Jaume Catalan, SICK Industry Manager were responsible for the second panel of the day. Knowing a little more about what smart industries are and where they are going was the goal of these interventions. These were born to meet consumer needs, people need goods to improve their quality of life.   The idea of investment so far has changed with the emergence of smart industries, and now these investments must go through technologies such as robotics, cloud and IoT. These investments mean that, by spending money on them, industries can produce more and grow. Helder Lemos highlighted 5 points where industries will evolve in the future: flexibility, especially with regard to personalization, one-on-one mass production; reaction time; efficiency; and cost optimization. Thus, it aims to increase productivity and quality of the final product, create new services, deliver added value, among other added value.   What prevents companies from betting on digitization? This was the question posed by Jaume Catalan to all present.   After discussion and presentation of the results, some reasons for this reality emerged on the table. According to one study, 65% of European companies consider digitization to be very relevant for their long-term survival. According to him, the digitization process of a company / industry must be done step by step, going through different steps until reaching a digitization degree that allows all processes to be self-optimized.

A new reality in maintenance!

Maintenance 4.0 in the F.Fonseca Day second edition   Helder Silva and Rui Vasconcelos from Renault Cacia were the next speakers and talked about the evolution of the industry and the new maintenance paradigm. “Industry 4.0 is based on the cloud, IoT, augmented reality, big data, and communication of all systems simultaneously, from the end customer to the production lines,” explained Hélder Silva, adding that reaching this stage requires bet on intelligent, autonomous and data-driven systems that can make decisions without human intervention. And what can you get with this? More efficient, increasingly intelligent factories that produce less waste.   “These days there is a waste of resources that means that regardless of whether the equipment needs maintenance or not, an operator will perform its maintenance on a regular basis. What can be gained from implementing Maintenance 4.0 in this reality? The machines will be so sensitized that they themselves tell the maintenance operator when they need intervention”, explained Rui Vasconcelos, making it clear that at Renault Cacia they are working to optimize the entire maintenance process.

Do we want robots to do the work we don't want to do?

Robotics without limits in F.Fonseca Day second edition   Bruno Silva, Industrial automation technician, Hernâni Rodrigues, SAT director and Tiago Carvalho, product Manager from F.Fonseca, made the last presentation of the day, focusing on an increasingly present reality in all industrial processes, robots.   What is a robot? Where are the limits of robotics? Do we want robots to do the work we don't want to do? These were some of the questions asked by Bruno Silva to contextualize this theme, stating that, in the future, the robots will be: Intelligent; Simple; Insurance and Furniture;   Hernâni Rodrigues affirmed the importance of the “Safety Limits”, focusing on the principles and strategies for risk assessment and reduction in an industrial environment. According to F.Fonseca's SAT director, “the limits are the parameters that we have to define when designing a robotized solution”, which solutions should always focus on the Machinery Directive.   Tiago Carvalho continued to talk about security and vision solutions, advancing future trends that, according to him, will be: data fusion between 2D scanner solutions and 3D auxiliary equipment; detection solutions for collaborative robots; parcel delivery by drones; Flying cars; and assistant robots.

They are talking and showing the future in practice, not just in theory, they are talking about what will be the everyday life in factories and industry in Portugal. They are already talking about what exists, but also about what will still exist. Of all the events we see throughout the year, this is an event about the future, it's critical. ”   Asked about the fact that the Portuguese are prepared for this digital revolution, Lourenço Medeiros admitted that "nobody is ready". The 2nd edition of F.Fonseca Day brought to this space the latest innovations in the sector and received over 200 participants and 30 brands in the showroom of the event.   The first edition of F.Fonseca Day was the genesis of this idea. It was in 2015 that this initiative came up with the goal of F.Fonseca show itself to its customers and potential customers, outside a circuit of the fairs. “We created our own fair so that we could give proper attention to our customers, have a morning with themes we considered of interest, and have a fairly large showroom so that people could touch the materials, try them on, expose them. your cases and we can help solve them” explained Helder Lemos, Business Manager at F.Fonseca. “This second came in this follow-up, we always refined some points in order to achieve the same goals, show ourselves to our customers, show solutions they do not know, provide a pleasant environment and an active showroom and interaction that day by day it's impossible,” he added.   The second day of the event was one of the major developments over the past edition, because it was the attempt to expose this kind of industrial solutions to those who will need them tomorrow, schools, universities, polytechnics. The aim was to show to those still in their academic period that tomorrow they will have to live with these solutions and that “they are here, they are real. Here is the state of the art of industrial automation in the world” said Helder Lemos.   The period of F.Fonseca Day would tend to be triennial, although this edition has been extended to take place in the year that F.Fonseca celebrates its 40th anniversary, thus joining the wide range of activities carried out by the company in 2019.   Earlier this year F.Fonseca convened an internal working group that discussed what might be interesting to show and discuss with Portuguese clients. The themes emerged from a consensus that allowed on the one hand to show technological issues outside the industrial world, and other more industrial themes, more linked to robotics, maintenance, safety, vision, among others. "We see ourselves as the entity that moves technology from the world to Portugal, and we think this is essential for industries to modernize, providing them with easy and simple solutions that we propose," said Helder Lemos, adding that the whole organization of this The event was for the same purpose, to move technology.   “We had a clear goal of overcoming the tremendous success we had in 2015 and we achieved not only the number of customers and partners present, the number of companies that are our suppliers, and our showroom that we planned to be larger than in the previous edition.”   The morning seminars were followed by the driving lunch, providing guests with the historical and scenic surroundings that this Montebelo hotel group offers in Ílhavo. Direct contact with the latest technological developments was the subsequent highlight in the showroom, with the support of much of F.Fonseca's technical and commercial staff, which allowed the demonstration of the operation and performance of the various equipment exhibited on site, wants the clarification of any questions posed.   The evaluation by the guests was acknowledged, totaling the feedback obtained between the very and fully satisfactory of 94% in speakers’ performance/ seminars and applicability / interest of the themes, 96% in the showroom and 99% in the event organization!   In the face of all these results, F.Fonseca's overall sentiment was of mission accomplished, confirming another great success, the 3rd future edition!

Solutions Safe Entry Exit from SICK

F.Fonseca presents solutions Safe Entry Exit - SICK   Muting is now even easier. When it comes to the protection of machines and systems in the field of pallet conveyor technology, reliable and efficient differentiation between humans and materials is indispensable for maintaining productivity. Classic systems which detect these muting functions often need a large amount of mounting space and are very vulnerable to sensor displacement due to the protruding brackets for muting sensors. Safe Entry Exit from Sick is the TÜV-certified alternative to these safety solutions.   The Safe Entry Exit safety system is the alternative to the classic muting solution: Safe human-material differentiation which works without additional signal sensor technology and only needs one signal from the process control. As soon as the transport goods have passed the protective device, it is immediately ready again to protect humans from hazards. Safe Entry Exit is based on the proven Flexi Soft safety controller combined with every type 4 electro-sensitive protective device (ESPE) from Sick and is therefore very flexible and easy to adapt. A Flexi Soft safety controller assesses up to four material gates protected with Safe Entry Exit.
