F.Fonseca | Steinel partnership celebration at an event dedicated to professionals
When we fight for something we believe, we do it! After 12 years, Steinel was again represented by F.Fonseca in Portugal. This milestone could not fail to be celebrated! Thus, on May 26, F.Fonseca organized a reception to about 30 professionals of the sector in its headquarters in Aveiro. Remote data center Netbiter EC350 from HMS
F.Fonseca presents the new Netbiter EC350 - the latest gateway for remote management of industrial equipment. The Netbiter EC350 is the first in a new generation of Netbiter gateways. It connects to industrial machinery via Modbus (serial), Ethernet, SNMP, (EtherNet/IP, coming 2014) or I/O and sends data to the cloud-based Netbiter data center via Ethernet or cellular communications. While previous generations of Netbiter gateways have been able to communicate via GSM/GPRS, the new Netbiter EC350 is enhanced to also communicate over 3G networks. The 3G communication provides increased performance compared to GPRS and also increases the geographical cellular coverage as it is possible to install the gateway where 3G is the only available network. With support for 5 different 3G bands, the Netbiter EC350 is a product suitable for the global market. The Netbiter EC350 will support “Remote Access” functionality. This means that users can open up a secure connection to remote machinery and configure or operate it from any location using standard software applications. Remote access provides a secure data tunnel to the remotely located equipment. For example, with a Netbiter connected to a PLC, it is possible to perform remote debugging or programming of the PLC from any location, using the same PLC configuration software as usual. The Netbiter EC350 gateway connects to e.g drilling equipment using a serial, Ethernet or I/O connection. Once the Netbiter gateway is connected, it automatically starts to send setup and initialization data via the Internet or the mobile network (GSM/GPRS/3G) to the cloud-based Netbiter Argos data center. This means you only just need to physicaly connect the gateway, the setup and configuration can be made remotely from any location. New versions of these network modules are now ready for connection to devices with IO-Link. What defines these new MVK and Impact67 modules with Murrelektronik's IO-Link is their quick integration and commissioning. The base technology is the IODD (IO Device Description) on Board where all sensor or actuator information is directly embedded in the GSDML configuration files of the MVK and Impact67 modules.
